Thanks for visiting Production Junkies, virtual home of our fictitious video production company. This site showcases how MediaSilo can be used to power various workflows that are common to any production environment.

REEL - Where would we be without our reel. With MediaSilo, we upload and manage our clips and decide which ones make it to our reel. We can update what shows up here by dragging clips on a channel - no need to get the web guys involved. Oh, but our web guys do love the fact that they can completely customize the reel page with HTML and CSS.

MediaSilo's Web Broadcast module lets users put together playlists that can be exported in various XML formats. The REEL page uses a simple Channel JSON file that can be parsed client side and its media displayed in many ways. This REEL page can be downloaded for free and will work for your channel after switching out the Channel JSON URL.

CLIENT REVIEW - We save tons of time by letting clients review our work online. No more in-person meetings and we even save a bunch by eliminating overnight FedEx deliveries. The client review app is a nifty tool for the less technical clients we have. It runs on our server but connects to the MediaSilo database. All comments and feedback is managed centrally and it saves us a lot of time and money.

This review and approval application uses MediaSilo's API. Developers can build completely customized applications with specific workflows in mind. This example is intended to for a non-technical audience that needs to review clips, send links to other people, and may have to upload clips occasionally. This API application is available free of charge and runs on your own server.

CONTRIBUTORS - We get tons of stuff from people in the field. The contributors page lets us accept video files and sends an email when new assets have been uploaded. Hey, some of our camera guys just use their 3G cards to upload stuff and it's even great for getting source files electronically delivered.

Files can be uploaded to MediaSilo via FTP. The Contributors tab uses a simple Java FTP Applet that can be configured to upload to a specific workspace in MediaSilo under a specific user account.

Backend Login - Our producers and sales team uses the Backend Admin to create reels, manage content, find assets, or send links to clients for review. It's for our power users. Log in with Username: productionjunkies and Password: productionjunkies.

MediaSilo itself is a powerful content management and collaboration platform. As a Flash based application, it lets users log in and interact with all uploaded content and with each other. MediaSilo is completely browser based and requires nothing but an Internet connection and the Flash Player plugin.
